Lecce have won just one of their last six home matches
Atalanta have won six of their last eight in all competitions
La Dea edged the reverse fixture 1-0 at the Gewiss Stadium back in December
La Dea can bounce back from Coppa Italia heartbreak
A 1-0 defeat to Juventus in the Coppa Italia final in midweek will have hurt Atalanta but Gian Piero Gasperini’s men will be looking to return to winning ways when they face Lecce at the Stadio Via del mare.
Lecce are comfortably in mid-table in Serie A and are currently on a three game winless run in the league, as well as taking all three points in just one of their last six home matches – scoring just twice in this run.
La Dea are looking to claim the final Champions League spot, with Atalanta holding a three point lead over sixth-placed Roma with a game in hand over Danielle De Rossi’s side and they can all but secure their place in Europe’s premier club competition with victory thanks to their superior goal difference.
The visitors have won three of their last five meetings with Lecce – including a 1-0 victory in the reverse fixture – and should prove to be too strong for Lecce once again on Saturday. With the hosts failing to score in four of their last six home games, a shutout win for Atalanta could be in store and a 2-0 result looks promising.
