Motherwell are a Premiership team, while Clyde play in League Two.
The Well won four of their final six away games last season.
Clyde lost seven of their eight home league games last term.
Motherwell can retain top spot
Motherwell lead the way in League Cup Group G with five points after two games and they can strengthen their hold on top spot by seeing off League Two outfit Clyde.
The hosts dismantled Edinburgh City 5-0 in their only game so far, while The Well beat the same opponents 3-0 at home and then won on penalties at Montrose in their second game.
The Steelmen look to be taking these early stages of the League Cup seriously and even at a fairly short price they look worth backing here.
Clyde may have put on a show against Edinburgh City, but Motherwell are a Premiership side who finished last season strongly on the road and they should have the class to avoid losing to League Two opposition.
Clyde’s five-goal showing against Edinburgh suggests they can keep this interesting, however, and a 2-1 win for The Well is the correct score pick. Motherwell conceded at Montrose and haven’t kept an away clean sheet since December, a run stretching 12 games, so goals at both ends could be on the cards. Clyde went down 2-0 at home to Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup last season so they may be able to keep this clash a little tighter than the odds suggest.
