AC Ajaccio advanced to the Coupe De France round of 32 with a narrow 2-1 victory over fourth-tier Jura Sud, but now turns their attention back to the pressing matter of Ligue 1 survival. Sitting just two points above the drop zone, the team will look to continue the solid form they displayed before the winter break (W3, D1, L1) in hopes of extending their stay in the top flight. Despite a winless start to their home league campaign, Ajaccio have recently earned back-to-back victories at home against the bottom two teams in the league. This improvement is highlighted by the team's increased scoring, with 71% of their goals this season coming from their last two home games.Ajaccio will have to be at their best, especially since they will be without key player Mathieu Coutadeur who is suffering from a calf injury. The loss of Coutadeur has prompted Ajaccio to consider recruiting new players to bolster their squad.Standing in Ajaccio's way of a third consecutive home win is Reims, a team currently unbeaten under manager William Still (W3, D4). Despite this impressive run, Reims still sits closer to the relegation zone than the European places and will be looking to break their current club-record of five consecutive away draws in Ligue 1 to make a push for the top-half of the table. But, it will be damn hard for Reims to win points no matter the problems in a home team. They will be happy to travel home with a a draw from this match. Reims indeed doesnt have aspirations and quality for highest positions and the aim to have secured place next season in best French tier is the main plan. I can see a draw here.
