Bayer Leverkusen’s impressive winning streak came to an end on Sunday afternoon when they failed to find the net in the 0-2 home loss to Borussia Dortmund in the derby of the previous Gameweek.
Die Werkself will be looking to bounce back five days later when they are set to open Matchday No 19 with the trip to WWK Arena for the clash against Augsburg.
The loss to Dortmund was a massive setback for Bayer’s ambitions of joining the battle for the UEFA Champions League positions.
The fourth-placed Borussia Dortmund are now ten points away from them. Nevertheless, Die Werkself still have 16 more matches to catch up with the rivals, meaning plenty of points are in play.
There are no doubts the visitors will be highly motivated to claim the spoils on Friday, especially knowing they should have space to deliver past Ausgburg’s back line here.
