Verona made it four straight league games without a defeat to get within just two points of Spezia in the safe zone.
The team led by Marco Zaffaroni continued their positive streak of results on Monday night when they dispatched Salernitana 1-0 at their Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi.
Belgian international Cyril Ngonge has been fantastic in the recent matches for Verona. He has two goals in three appearances for Zaffaroni’s squad.
Ngonge scored two goals six days ago against Salermitana, but only one counted as the other was ruled out for offside.
Verona will be hoping to continue their resurgence on Sunday evening when they travel to the capital to face Roma in a very interesting Gameweek 23 clash at Stadio Olimpico.
