Patrick Vieira led Crystal Palace to a third consecutive draw in the English Premier League but he would take some pride in that result as it came against Liverpool. Crystal Palace's attention turns to Aston Villa in the league as they look to return to winning ways. Both teams have had similar paths in the league this term but my money is on an away win or draw for the following reasons;
[1] Crystal Palace is a team that knows how to escape defeats. They always manage to get the least they can from every game and Patrick Vieira has set up his team to be very competitive this season. Crystal Palace has the fewest number of defeats for a team in the second half of the table. They have lost only nine premier league games this season meanwhile Aston Villa has hit double digits for losses in the 2022/23 English Premier League season. Most times when mid table teams meet, Crystal Palace always show their superiority and since Patrick Vieira's appointment, Crystal Palace has often been safe from relegation. If you are looking for a mid table team to bank on, Crystal Palace is the best. Their only losses in the league this year were against Chelsea, Tottenham, and Manchester United. Even Chelsea and Man Utd labored for a narrow win against Crystal Palace and I'm very confident they can win or draw against Aston Villa.
[2] Aston Villa's home performances aren't quite convincing and Crystal Palace can get a result here. Unai Emery's team have lost two straight home games but the same scoreline; 4-2 defeats vs Arsenal and Leicester. Things aren't good for Villa at home and Crystal Palace should come out of this game with at least a point. The Eagles did not lose to Aston Villa last season as they won four points out of a possible six points against Aston Villa. With impressive draws against Newcastle United, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Brentford, I don't see Crystal Palace losing to Aston Villa.
Crystal Palace might not be getting full points for their performances but they do look know how to get results from these type of games and I'm predicting this game to end in a win or draw for the Eagles.
