Bristol City and Blackpool will lock horns in the first game of Saturday’s Championship schedule at Ashton Gate.
Both outfits have been struggling for goals in recent weeks and we don’t have too many reasons to be optimistic regarding the beauty of football and plenty of clear-cut openings this weekend in Bristol.
The hosts have failed to find the back of the net in three consecutive games, a run that involves a goalless stalemate against Huddersfield on Tuesday evening at John Smith’s Stadium.
However, we must say that Bristol City have been excellent in front of the home fans lately, going unbeaten in the last five matches at Ashton Gate. The Robins have won three and drawn two of these five games along the way.
Blackpool will also enter this game off the back of a goalless draw in the previous round. However, it was a result the head coach Mick McCarthy was pleased with as it has come up against the likes of Burnley.
The Seasiders are six points shy of the safe zone and they need to collect salvation points sooner rather than later. Nevertheless, they are winless in ten consecutive outings on the road across competitions, seven of which they have lost.
Both outfits have been struggling for goals of late. The visitors are under a huge pressure and we expect them to park the bus here, much like they did last weekend against leaders Burnley at Bloomfield Road.
