The last kick off the ball in this month in Serie A will occur on Sunday evening as Inter Milan host bitter inter-city rivals Juventus in the huge Derby d’Italia.
Inter Milan will enter it on the back of the huge midweek success as a goalless draw to Porto at Estadio Do Dragao sent them through to the UEFA Champions League quarterfinal.
I Nerazzurri have, however, not done equally well in recent domestic games, losing two of the last three in Serie A.
The last Friday’s 2-1 defeat at Spezia has all but ruled Inter Milan out of the title race, leaving Napoli as many as 18 points adrift atop the standings.
Simone Inzaghi’s troops now have to fight to preserve a place in the top-four in the league standings. They are currently three points above fifth-placed Roma.
Juventus, on the other side, sit seventh in the league table with nine points between them and AC Milan in fourth place.
I Bianconeri could theoretically join the battle for the top-four finish with a strong run after the international break. A win over bitter rivals Inter Milan would certainly be on a huge help.
