New York City will be looking to snap their nine-game winless streak on Saturday afternoon when they host Eastern Conference rivals Columbus Crew at Yankee Stadium.
The Pigeons own one of the weakest attacking records in the whole MLS with only 17 goals scored in 17 games so far in the season.
They will go into this off the back of successive goalless draws against New England and Real Salt Lake.
Nick Cushing’s men barely survived the last weekend’s clash against Real Salt Lake, keeping their net untouched despite facing 20 shots and a 2.97 xG on the occasion.
The Pigeons should, however, have more space in the final third here against Columbus Crew who have been playing attacking-minded football in the last several weeks.
The Crew will enter this in much higher spirits after managing a streak of three successive wins. Each of the last five league games they played saw the Over 2.5 goals FT & Both Teams To Score pick coming in.
The team’s top scorer Lucas Zelarrayan found the late winner in the last weekend’s 1-2 road win over Eastern Conference strugglers Chicago Fire.
