Orlando City will meet Philadelphia Union in one of the most exciting games of mid-week’s MLS schedule on Wednesday evening at Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
Both teams will enter the tie off the back of defeats which followed winning runs. Orlando fell 3-1 at New England Revolution, conceding three naïve goals in a match in which they might have earned a draw.
The team led by Colombian manager Oscar Pareja had previously gone unbeaten in six consecutive outings across competitions, winning three of the last four matches in the process.
Orlando City had kept back-to-back clean sheets against New York Red Bulls and Colorado Rapids before shipping three goals to the Revs on Saturday.
Phila, who won the Eastern Conference last year and went on to play the MLS Cup final, terminated a four-win run with a 2-1 defeat at San Jose Earthquakes eleven days ago.
Their players should, however, come into this tie more rested after skipping the last weekend’s action.
The Union own one of the most dangerous attacking tridents in the league with Julian Carranza, Daniel Gazdag, and Mikael Uhre scoring a total of 22 goals among them so far in the season.
Gazdag is away on international duty with Hungary but Carranza and Uhre are both ready to feature on Wednesday.
