Having claimed their Europa League spot by winning last season’s Conference League, West Ham are almost sure of their place in the knockout stage with two games remaining.
They have won three of their four matches and, with a potentially crucial clash against their nearest rivals Freiburg to come, they should remain on the ball for their trip to Backa Topola.
Following David Moyes’s team has been an entertaining experience this season and they head into this one having followed a victory over Olympiakos in their last Europa game with league victories over Nottingham Forest and Burnley.
However, keeping clean sheets on the road has been a bit of an issue and with their Serbian opponents keen to show they deserve to be at this level despite one point from their four games, both teams could net in a West Ham victory.
Backa Topola’s defending is an issue
Confidence should not be low in the home camp after they pulled off their best result of the season last time out, winning 4-0 at the home of league leaders Partizan Belgrade.
However, they conceded five times without replay on their recent trip to Freiburg and there are concerns they are no quite up to it defensively at this level.
While capable of scoring, they may not keep the Hammers at bay, so a 3-1 away win may be of interest to those who relish a correct-score bet.
