West Brom can become the third promotion contender in a matter of weeks to take points off Championship leaders Leicester when they meet at The Hawthorns on Saturday.
The Foxes fell to 1-0 defeats against Leeds and Middlesbrough in early November before returning to winning ways after the international break with a 2-0 victory over Watford.
But their reputation as title favourites was damaged again in midweek when a stoppage-time equaliser at Hillsborough meant they dropped two more points against rock-bottom Sheffield Wednesday.
It represents a worrying sequence of results for a team that had won 13 of their first 14 league games to send out a message of near invincibility to their rivals.
Albion could be fresher after midweek games
West Brom are the division’s form side, having collected 15 points from their last six games to move into fifth spot.
Carlos Corberan’s team swept second-placed Ipswich aside with some superb football last weekend and then dug out a solid 1-0 road win at Cardiff on Tuesday.
They have had an extra 24 hours to rest and prepare for this fixture, although Foxes boss Enzo Maresca made six changes in midweek compared to Corberan’s two.
Leicester’s early-season momentum is now gone though and they look ripe for the taking with West Brom worth backing in the Draw no Bet market to do the business in this crunch lunchtime clash.
