Jurgen Klopp’s side have claimed victories over Burnley and Newcastle since then, scoring six goals in the process and even without Mo Salah, who is at the Africa Cup of Nations, they can still offer enough up front to trouble a Gunners defence licking their wounds after two defeats.
Liverpool have scored at least twice in nine of their last 13 away matches and their only league loss of the season came at Tottenham when they conceded a late own goal while finishing the match with just nine men.
It could be tight, which makes the draw-no-bet option a sensible one, but it could be the visitors who progress into the fourth round.
Nunez could make his mark
Salah’s absence means someone else will have to step up to the plate and this could be a time for Darwin Nunez to shine.
The Uruguayan forward has looked sharper in recent weeks and looks a good bet to score in this one, just as he did in the Reds’ last away game at Burnley.
