Liverpool set for another cup victory
Liverpool progressed from one cup competition on Sunday, beating Arsenal 2-0 in the FA Cup, and they can take a step towards the final of another when they face Fulham in the last four of the EFL Cup on Wednesday.
The first leg of this EFL Cup semi-final tie is at Anfield, which has once again been a fortress for Jurgen Klopp’s men this season.
They have won 13 and drawn two of their 15 home games in all competitions this season, having won eight of their ten home matches in the Premier League.
Fulham came close to a surprise win on Merseyside when these sides met in early December but goals from Wataru Endo and Trent Alexander-Arnold in the 87th and 88th minutes turned the game on its head and handed Liverpool a 4-3 win.
Since then, Liverpool have won six of their subsequent nine games and this semi-final first leg should be a less frenetic affair.
Goals could be at a premium at Anfield
Fulham have generally struggled on their travels this season, winning just one away game in the Premier League this season.
They would be in the relegation zone if only away results counted in the top flight and, with that in mind, a comfortable Liverpool win could be on the cards this time around.
The Reds are worth backing at -1 goal on the handicap – to win by two or more goals – and as for a correct score, two of their last three matches have been won 2-0, which looks a wise pick at Anfield.
