Inter Milan are running away with things in Serie A, sitting seven points clear at the summit after following up a 1-0 win over second-placed Juventus with a 4-2 win over a resurgent Roma on Saturday.
They are unbeaten in their last 17 Serie A games, in a run that has included 14 wins, and have won their last six league matches at San Siro, suggesting they should have no issues whatsoever against basement boys Salernitana on Friday.
Simone Inzaghi’s men have been relentless going forward, notching 55 goals in 23 league games this term, but it is their defence that has helped them maintain their lead at the top of the table, having conceded just 12 times all season.
That does not bode well for the league’s second-lowest scorers Salernitana, who have netted just 20 Serie A goals this term, and Inter could be set for another routine win at San Siro.
Salernitana set to struggle at San Siro
The visitors have won only one of their last 11 league games and look unlikely to trouble the league leaders at all on Friday, as Inter have won five of their last six home matches to nil in a run that has included triumphs over Juventus and Roma.
The head-to-head record also suggests this should be fairly routine for Inzaghi’s men, as Salernitana have lost four of the last five meetings between the pair without netting a goal.
Inter won the reverse fixture 4-0 in Salerno and should have no issues against the same opponents in Milan.
