The Swedish hosts edged past Klaksvikar Itrottarfelag of the Faroe Islands 6-4 in the second qualifying round, winning 4-1 at home before a 3-2 defeat away, while they required extra-time to in their 6-5 aggregate success against Greek side PAOK last time out.
Malmo drew 2-2 in the home leg, which means both teams have scored in ten of their last 12 competitive games and only two of their last 14 outings have gone under 2.5 goals.
Visitors pack a potent punch
Sparta, meanwhile, outclassed Shamrock Rovers 6-2 on aggregate in their opening Champions League assignment before overcoming Romania’s FCSB 4-3 over the course of two legs.
