PSG are in awesome shape
Paris Saint-Germain ought to maintain their utter dominance of Brest when two of the top three clubs from Ligue last season meet at Parc des Princes on Saturday evening.
PSG have won 15 of the last six meetings of these sides, although the one that they didn’t was the corresponding fixture last season when the visitors came back from two goals down at half-time to grab a 2-2 draw.
Luis Enrique’s side have begun the campaign in awsome form, winning all three games and rattling in 13 goals. Bradley Barcola, who notched for France against Italy during the international break, has been superb and should be backed to extend his scoring streak in this game.
Tough start for Brest
As for Brest, it has been a tough start to the season for Eric Roy’s side. They lost a few players in the summer and have been struck by injuries already this year with left-back Bradley Locko probably out for the season with a ruptured Achilles tendon, joining key midfielder Pierre-Lees Melou on the sidelines.
But, after beginning the campaign with heavy defeats against Marseille and Lens, they looked more like their old selves in a 4-0 thrashing of Saint-Etienne before the break.
However, this is a major step up in class for them and their record against PSG over the long-term does not inspire confidence. They were beaten by one-goal margins in the three clashes with PSG prior to their 2-2 draw in Paris last autumn, so there could be some scope in backing them to avoid a heavy loss. But the safest play here is to back the home side to win on Saturday.
