Atalanta finally coming good?
UEFA Europa League champions Atalanta endured a tough start to the 2024/25 campaign, as they lost two of their opening three games.
Both of those defeats came on the road though, against Inter Milan and Torino, whereas they have only had a couple of matches across all competitions in Bergamo.
One of those was an impressive 0-0 draw against Arsenal in the UEFA Champions League in midweek, which followed a 3-2 success against Fiorentina in Serie A.
Indeed, of their last ten outings at Stadio Atleti Azzurri d’Italia, the Goddess have been defeated only two times.
Como continue to struggle
That is not good news for opponents Como, who remain winless upon their return to the top flight after a 21-year absence.
It is perhaps no surprise that Cesc Fabregas’ side have endured such a disappointing run, given they basically signed a new first XI in the off-season, many of whom are still bedding in.
But the results do not make for pretty reading, with just two points from an available 12 in the league, and both their losses during that period coming away from home.
I predict that Atalanta will win this game, with 1-0 my correct score prediction.
