Nice have scored more than once in just three of their last ten home matches
Real Sociedad have not scored in their last four outings
The Spanish side have collected just one win in their last seven games
Nice will be lifted by Saint-Etienne romp
Nice mustered just 21 goals in their 17 home La Liga matches last season, so it was a huge surprise to see them put eight past Saint-Etienne on Friday.
That victory was a massive confidence boost for the team who finished fifth in Ligue 1 last season and while we should not expect similar fireworks against Real Sociedad in Wednesday’s Europa League meetings, they should still come through and take three points.
Sociedad struggling to find the net
Real Sociedad have taken a full return from just one of their last seven matches and it is their lack of proficiency in the final third which must be of the great concern to manager Imanol Alguacil.
They have failed to find the net in their last four matches and the San Sebastian outfit’s last four way games have featured a total of just two goals.
So this could be a lot more cagey than Nice’s last home game, when they were 6-0 up at half-time, as a 2-0 home win may be of interest to correct-score punters as Real Sociedad’s last eight away games have all featured fewer than three goals.
