Venezia have secured just one point on the road in Serie A this season
Two player out a 1-1 draw in their last meeting back in 2022
Giallorossi can defeat Lagunari with some comfort
Roma begun the Ivan Juric era in emphatic style last weekend in a 3-0 hammering of Udinese at the Stadio Olimpico and they can make it back-to-back home victories when they host a Venezia side that have struggled away from home since returning to Italy’s top flight.
The Giallorossi have lost just one of their last five home matches in all competitions, including a 1-1 draw with Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League in midweek – a game in which they conceded an 85th minute equaliser.
Venezia secured their first Serie A victory of the season last time out – a 2-0 home win over Genoa – but their fortunes away from the Pier Luigi Penzo have been far less fruitful, with three defeats from four away matches in all competitions, including a shock 3-1 loss to second tier Brescia in the Coppa Italia.
The Lagunari have not scored in either of their last two away games and this run could continue against a Roma side that kept a clean sheet in their last home match. Roma have scored an average of two goals over their two Serie A home games this season and so a 2-0 victory looks a tempting prospect.
