Sturm Graz have won three of their four home matches this season
Club Brugge have not won any of their last three games
This is the first ever meeting between the two sides
Sturm and Brugge must settle for point
Two sides that got off to losing starts in the Champions League this season go head-to-head on matchday two as Austrian champion Sturm Graz host an out-of-form Club Brugge.
Die Schwoazn fell to a 2-1 defeat to Ligue 1 side Brest in their competition opener but have returned to form in recent weeks, taking four points from a possible six against Austria Vienna (2-2) and Blau Weiss Linz (2-1).
Club Brugge meanwhile have had a torrid time of things since their 3-0 home defeat to Borussia Dortmund on matchday one, following this result with a 4-2 home loss to Gent and 1-1 draw at Charleroi – with Hans Vanaken scoring an injury-time equaliser.
However, that point does make it three away matches in a row without defeat for Nicky Hayen’s men and they may be able to hold their own in this encounter. Three of their last four on the road have seen both teams score and the same is true of for three of Sturm Graz’s last four at home and the two may cancel each other out, with our prediction being a 1-1 draw.
