Sturm Graz have lost both of their opening two Champions League fixtures
Sporting have won 10 of their last 11 matches in all competitions
The visitors came away with a 2-1 victory in their Europa League meeting last season
In-form Lions too hot to handle
Sporting have been an unstoppable force in the Liga Portugal and they will be vying to keep their unbeaten start to the Champions League going when they travel to Austria to face a Sturm Graz side that is yet to register a point in Europe.
The Lions have won all but two of their 12 competitive matches this season – losing 4-3 to Porto in extra-time in the Portuguese Super Cup and drawing 1-1 with PSV at the beginning of the month – and have claimed shutout victories in three of their last five on the road.
The Blacks have also been impressive domestically, winning each of their last two league matches at home including a stunning 5-0 success over RB Salzburg, however they were beaten to nil in their last home European fixture – a 1-0 loss to Club Brugge.
Sturm Graz are inexperience at this level and they could come up short against a free-flowing Sporting side. Seven of Sporting’s last eight victories have been to nil and a repeat of this feat could be in store on Tuesday, with our prediction being a 2-0 win for the visitors.
