- Bologna have picked up just nine points from a potential 24 in Serie A this season
- AC Milan are unbeaten in 18 trips to the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, winning 13 times in a run which dates back to 2002
- The hosts have failed to win any of their last five games while the Rossoneri have tasted victory in four of their last six outings
Milan may prove too strong for their struggling hosts
Two sides who enjoyed very differing weeks in Europe will clash in the Serie A on Saturday as Bologna, who were beaten 2-0 by Aston Villa in the Champions League, take on AC Milan, who earned a comfortable 3-1 victory over Club Brugge in the same competition.
Bologna’s defeat at Villa Park means they have now gone five matches without a victory and the holes left by the departures of Riccardo Calafiori, Joshua Zirkzee and, perhaps most crucially, Thiago Motta are beginning to show.
AC Milan, in contrast, are beginning to show progress under their new manager, Paulo Fonseca, and have won four of their last six matches in a run which includes a 2-1 victory over the Serie A champions and their bitter rivals Inter Milan.
Ridiculous run to be extended by Rossoneri
Worryingly for Bologna, they are yet to even win a home match this season, a fact which is made even worse by Milan’s sensational away record against the Red and Blues.
The Rossoneri are unbeaten in their last 18 visits to the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara, winning an impressive 13 times in mind-boggling a run which dates all the way back to 2002.
With Fonseca getting a much better tune out of his side than his opposite number Vincenzo Italiano, it could pay to back Milan to extend their stunning unbeaten streak at Bologna’s home with another win on Saturday.
