It has been a terrific run for Lazio, who have beaten Twente (2-0), Genoa (3-0) and Como (5-1) to register a three-match winning streak across all competitions.
Indeed, the team from the Italian capital have been victories in seven of their last eight fixtures, with five of those successes coming by at least a two goal margin.
Marco Baroni’s side are therefore in the fight for a top four spot, and they will expect to continue their strong form at home, where they are unbeaten in a dozen fixtures since March.
Are Cagliari losing form?
The same cannot be said for Cagliari, who head to the Stadio Olimpico on the back of successive 2-0 defeats to Udinese and Bologna.
Indeed, Davide Nicola’s side have now been beaten in five of their last eight Serie A matches, losing by at least a two-goal cushion in four of them.
And their away form does not make for pretty reading either, winning just once in four attempts (D1, L2), scoring a measly four goals in the process.
