- Dortmund are a perfect six wins from six on home soil this season
- The hosts have scored four or more goals in three of their last six at home
- Sturm Graz are averaging more than two goals-per-game in this season’s Austrian Bundesliga
Dortmund to maintain perfect home record
Borussia Dortmund are six wins from six on home soil this season and they should have no problems recording a seventh success at Signal Iduna Park when Sturm Graz visit in the Champions League on Tuesday.
BVB are also unbeaten in their last 12 Champions League matches on their own patch, winning the previous four, including a 7-1 success over Celtic in this season’s competition.
While their away record is poor, Dortmund have been ruthless on home soil this season, scoring 21 goals in their six games to date on their own patch, but they have failed to keep a clean-sheet in any of their last five at Signal Iduna Park, offering Sturm Graz hope they can get on the scoresheet.
Austrians can contribute to open contest
Sturm Graz’ return to the main phase of the Champions League for the first time since the 2000/01 season has been tough going, as they have lost all three of their games, although they did score in their last road fixture in the competition against Brest.
Christian Ilzer’s side are leading the way in the Austrian Bundesliga and are averaging more than two goals-per-game domestically, so they have the attacking tools to hurt Dortmund, but no clean-sheet in five underlines they may struggle to contain their hosts.
Dortmund have scored four or more goals in three of their six home games this season and they can reach that tally again on Tuesday – a 4-1 home win cannot be ruled out.
