Shakhtar Donetsk have lost just one of their last six
Young Boys have lost six of their last 10
The Swiss side won the previous meeting 2-0 back in 2016
Ukrainians could edge low-scoring affair
Both Shakthar Donetsk and Young Boys have endured difficult starts to their Champions League campaign and a close affair is expected when the two go head-to-head on Wednesday evening.
Shakhtar have just a singular point to their name in this season’s competition – via a goalless draw in Bologna on matchday one – however they have avoided defeat in each of their last three matches, including a 1-1 draw with Ukrainian Premier League leaders Dynamo Kiev.
Young Boys have suffered an even worse campaign than their Wednesday opponents in losing each of their opening three matches and their form since their 3-0 loss to Aston Villa on opening night has taken a nose dive, losing five and winning just three of their nine matches since.
Both sides are yet to score in this competition and so a high-scoring affair is unlikely in this encounter. However, Shakhtar showed plenty of promise in their 1-0 loss at Arsenal and their form should see them edge past the Swiss side, with our prediction being a 1-0 win to the Ukrainian outfit.
