1999-2000 La Liga winners Deportivo La Coruna have not had a happy return to the second tier after winning the Primera Federacion last season but the Herculinos could get a vital three points on the board when they host an out-of-form Eibar on Monday night.
Oscar Gilsanz’s men have lost six and won just three of their opening 13 league matches this season but they did secure an emphatic 5-1 victory at bottom-of-the-table Cartagena last time out to instil some much needed confidence.
Eibar meanwhile have lost three of their last four matches in the Spanish Segunda Division and their lack of firepower up front will be of great concern to head coach Joseba Etxeberria, with Los Armeros failing to find the net in four of their last five matches in all competitions.
Deportivo will feel confident that they can keep out the misfiring visitors in this contest but do not expect the hosts to run away with proceedings.
