Monaco have a fantastic record at the halfway point of the Champions League’s opening phase, having picked up 10 points from four matches. They’ve beaten Barcelona and thumped Red Star at home to sit third in the standings, putting them on course for a bye to the last 16.
The French outfit certainly aren’t fortunate to have started to well, as they’ve won the Expected Goals battle in each of their four European games so far.
Monaco can build on that strong start this weekend, as they meet a Benfica side who have been beaten in their last two European outings. The Portuguese side have suffered setbacks against Feyenoord and Bayern Munich, while they make this trip having lost three of their last five trips in this competition.
