They take on a Crystal Palace side who look to have steadied the ship in recent weeks following a slow start to the campaign which saw them fail to win any of their opening eight league matches, and they could keep the Magpies quiet on Saturday.
A 1-0 home win at the end of October came as some surprise, but the scoreline wasn’t out of the ordinary for the Eagles and our prediction is for this contest to also feature few goals, if any.
This fixture has been notoriously tight in recent years, although things did come alive last season when Newcastle won 4-0 at St James’ Park before losing 2-0 in the return meeting at Selhurst Park.
Prior to that though, goals were at a premium and a regression to few goals looks likely this week.
