Peterborough should be backed to get a home win over Mansfield on Boxing Day.
The visitors have sustained three defeats on their last four away days in League One and could be heading for another loss under Nigel Clough.
Mansfield are seven places above Peterborough in the table, but the two sides are separated by only four points. Peterborough are 17th with seven wins and ten defeats, while Mansfield are tenth with eight wins, four draws and seven losses.
Mansfield’s form has dipped recently. They have just one win from their last six League One games, a run which includes four defeats.
They were 1-0 winners of a tightly contested game against Rotherham in their last league match on Saturday, but overall Mansfield are struggling to get a run of victories together.
Peterborough, managed by Darren Ferguson, are the highest home goalscorers in the league with 25 goals and will be confident of getting on the scoresheet at London Road
They have found the net in three consecutive league games, including a 4-3 win over Crawley two weeks ago in their last league home game. It’s now three League One games since they last failed to score.
Peterborough should be able to edge out Mansfield, with a 2-1 home win the correct-score pick. Five of Mansfield’s seven League One defeats have come by the odd goal.
