Goals on the cards at Oakwell
Barnsley have scored at least twice in three successive League One games and there should be goals when they host Crawley on Saturday.
Sixth-placed Barnsley are 15 places above Crawley in 21st, but they have played two games more. Barnsley have won 11 of their 24 games this season, while Crawley have five wins, five draws and 12 defeats.
Crawley are without a win in four League One games, having lost three of those matches and they have failed to win nine of their last ten on the road.
In contrast, Barnsley have won four of their last five league games, and while they are favourites, taking over 2.5 goals is a more sensible approach to betting on this game with both teams showing an appetite for attacking football.
Barnsley have scored at least twice in four of their last five league games and four of Crawley’s last five have produced three or more goals.
Neither side has impressed defensively of late, with Barnsley having gone ten games without keeping a clean sheet and Crawley failing to shut out the opposition in six of their last eight matches.
Barnsley have been involved in plenty of high-scoring games at home lately and, with three or more goals in six of their last eight League One matches at Oakwell, the overs looks like the best bet when they take on Crawley.
Barnsley have been scoring freely of late, but Crawley are in desperate need of points and should make this competitive. The 2-2 draw is appealing as a correct-score pick, particularly as Crawley will be fresher as their match with Charlton on New Year’s Day was postponed.
