Eastleigh becoming draw specialists
Only four teams have lost fewer matches in this season’s National League than mid-table Eastleigh, who would be much higher in the standings if they could convert some of their draws into wins.
The Spitfires have shared the spoils 10 times this season – the joint-most in the division alongside Aldershot – with nine of those draws coming across their last 14 fixtures.
In the last few weeks alone Eastleigh have drawn with third-placed Barnet and third-bottom Fylde, underlining their hard to beat nature alongside perhaps a lack of a ruthless streak.
Oldham looking to respond
With just three league defeats all season, Oldham are on the edge of the title picture, but they saw their recent four-match winning run in the league and eight-game unbeaten sequence ended at Hartlepool on New Year’s Day.
That defeat also brought an eight-match unbeaten away run to an end for the Latics in the National League, although they had drawn four of those games during that sequence.
Another share could be on the cards when Micky Mellon’s side head to Silverlake Stadium, with a repeat of last season’s 1-1 draw between the teams at Boundary Park standing out in the correct score market.
