Liverpool have a healthy six-point lead at the top of the Premier League table but head to Brentford looking to get back to winning ways after consecutive draws.
The Bees’ held Manchester City to a 2-2 draw at this ground on Tuesday and they’ve got another tough game on Saturday against the leaders. Brentford have faced the other five teams currently in the top six over the course of their last seven league games and have a respectable four points from those five tough games, with one win a draw and three defeats.
Brentford have been excellent at home this season but they are now winless in four in front of their own fans. Liverpool look capable of winning here as they were unlucky not to claim all three points at high-flying Nottingham Forest in their own midweek assignment, but at a short price a standard away win isn’t particularly attractive.
The best way to get a bit of value out of backing Liverpool is using the goals markets and an away win with goals at both ends looks the best option.
Brentford have only failed to score in one home league game, while Liverpool have conceded in seven of their last nine games across all competitions and one of their two clean sheets came against League Two side Accrington Stanley in the FA Cup.

Mohamed Salah is the clear choice for an anytime scorer bet but the value option is looking at the home squad and Yoane Wissa stands out. Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo have been exceptional this season with a combined 24 goals in the league. Mbuemo has 13 of those, but Wissa was on target against Man City and has scored in back-to-back games so of the two he looks the better candidate ahead of Liverpool’s visit.
