Goals galore at Elland Road
Back over 2.5 goals when Leeds host Cardiff at Elland Road on Saturday. No team has scored more in the Championship this season than Leeds’ 53 goals in 29 games and their recent meetings with Cardiff have produced plenty of goals.
Leeds are 17 places above Cardiff in the table, with the two sides separated by 29 points. Leeds lead the Championship having won 17 of their 29 games this season, while Cardiff are 18th with seven wins, ten draws and twelve losses.
Leeds have enjoyed two straight Championship victories against Cardiff, and they have also won their last two home games. However, Cardiff have gone unbeaten on six of their last seven Championship away trips, and they have drawn their last two on the road.
Cardiff’s last game saw them beat Derby 2-1, making it three consecutive Championship matches with over 2.5 goals. Cardiff were priced at 6/5 to win the game and duly obliged for their backers.
There were under 2.5 goals the last time these sides met in the Championship, but the two meetings last season went over and five of the last seven Championship meetings between these sides have gone over 2.5 goals.
Both teams are in good form going forward. Leeds have been prolific in front of goal this season, scoring three or more goals in nine of their 29 games, and averaging over two goals per game at home. Cardiff have also found the net regularly, scoring two goals or more in three consecutive matches.
