Out-of-sorts pair are good for goals
Leipzig have scored in 14 of their last 15 league games and Saturday’s game away at Union Berlin looks set to deliver goals. Back over 2.5 goals at An der Alten Forsterei.
Leipzig are fifth in the Bundesliga, with nine wins, five draws and five defeats. Union Berlin are 14th, having won five, drawn five and lost nine. Leipzig are nine places and 12 points above their hosts.
Leipzig have not won in three Bundesliga games and they have been beaten in four of their last six away matches.
However, these are also tough times for Union Berlin, with seven of their last nine games ending in defeat, although they did beat Mainz 2-1 two weeks ago in their most recent home game.
Leipzig ended Bayer Leverkusen’s run of eight straight Bundesliga victories with a 2-2 draw on Saturday, and it was a good point for the Reb Bull-backed outfit, who were 13/5 to win the game. This was the tenth time in 12 league games that there have been over 2.5 goals in Leipzig’s matches.
The last Bundesliga game between these two had under 2.5 goals, but eight of the previous ten meetings were overs and the last five times Union Berlin have hosted Leipzig in the league have produced over 2.5 goals.
Leipzig have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last three Bundesliga away games, which adds to the case for goals.
Both teams are out of form, but Leipzig look much the better side on paper, which makes a 3-0 away win an attractive correct-score bet. Union have not scored in their last three league defeats and have lost 3-0 twice this season in the Bundesliga.
