Both teams to score looks the best bet when Auxerre host Toulouse in Ligue 1 on Sunday. Both teams have lost more games than they’ve won this season, with Toulouse tenth and Auxerre 11th in Ligue 1. Auxerre have six wins, five draws and nine defeats, while Toulouse have won seven, drawn five and lost eight.
Auxerre have gone eight home games without a defeat in Ligue 1, but it is four games since they last won at home. Toulouse have recorded three victories in the last four league head-to-heads between the teams, and they come into this game in patchy form, with two wins, two draws and two defeats in their last six league games.
Auxerre lost 4-2 to Monaco last Saturday in their last Ligue 1 game, which was their fourth in six matches with both teams scoring. The result was expected, with Monaco priced at 1/3 to win the game.
With both sides struggling defensively, there should be goals in this game. Auxerre have conceded 33 goals this season in Ligue 1 – an average of 1.7 goals conceded per game from 20 games – and Toulouse have failed to keep a clean sheet in five of their last seven league matches.
Auxerre have been much stronger at home this season, where they have won five and lost just once in Ligue 1. A 3-1 win for Auxerre is worth considering as a correct-score option, with three of Toulouse’s eight league defeats so far coming by two goals.
