Tricky Trees

- Nottingham Forest have won six and drawn one of their last seven home games.
- Arsenal have only won 42% of their competitive away games this season.
- Chris Wood has scored ten of his 18 Premier League goals at The City Ground.
Tricky Trees out to upset the apple cart
Nottingham Forest saw their top-four cushion slashed to just three points after losing a seven-goal thriller at Newcastle on Sunday, but they may find more success when they return to The City Ground to host an Arsenal side who suffered a setback of their own at the weekend.
The Tricky Trees, sitting an unlikely third in the Premier League table, have lost to Bournemouth, Fulham, and Newcastle in the past month, but all three of these defeats came on their travels and Nuno Espirito Santo will be more confident back on home soil.
Wednesday’s hosts have lost just two competitive home games this season and the most recent of these came over three months ago, with six wins from seven following that loss to Newcastle and the only blip on their record being an impressive draw against league-leaders Liverpool.
Gunners title challenge on the rocks
Arsenal will be reeling after their shock defeat to West Ham allowed Liverpool to open up a double-figure lead at the top of the table, all but ending their title challenge and, after their EFL Cup exit to Newcastle and their FA Cup loss against Manchester United, leaving them with the Champions League as their only prospect of silverware this season.
This was the eighth time in the Gunners’ 19 away games that they have failed to win, so backing Nottingham Forest in the double chance market looks an excellent price.
Can’t see the Wood for the Trees
Five of these failures have ended as draws and the last two of these were 1-1 scorelines. Nottingham Forest held the only other side above them in the table – Liverpool – to the same scoreline last month, making a 1-1 correct score prediction appealing.
Chris Wood registered his third assist of the season in Forest’s defeat to Newcastle on Sunday, but expect to see him back on the scoresheet on Wednesday. Ten of his 18 Premier League goals this season have come on home soil and he has notched eight times in his last eight top-flight outings.
Predictions:Nottingham Forest Double Chance (Win or Draw)
Draw 1-1
