Wolves have issues without Cunha
Wolves have moved five points clear of the relegation zone over recent weeks but after following up a league loss against Fulham with an FA Cup exit at the hands of Bournemouth, they may also struggle to overcome Everton.
The cup exit was a particularly painful one for Wolves, not only as they lost on penalties, but talisman Matheus Cunha was sent off and will miss this game through suspension as a result.
Cunha has been directly involved in 17 of Wolves’ 37 Premier League goals this season, scoring 13 himself, and the one league game he has missed did not go well for Vitor Pereira’s side, as they lost 3-0 on home soil to Nottingham Forest.
Moyes’ momentum not slowing down
Everton thrashed Wolves 4-0 when the teams met at Goodison Park in December, one of just three league wins they managed under Sean Dyche this season, while they have triumphed in four of their eight top-flight matches since David Moyes succeeded Dyche in the dugout in January.
Since losing his first match back at the club against Aston Villa, Moyes has steered Everton on a seven-game unbeaten run in the league that has all but ended any fears of relegation.
Having taken seven points from his three away matches back in charge, Moyes will be confident his side can gain another positive result at Molineux against a Wolves team that have lost nine of their 13 home games this season in the top flight.
Doucoure can deliver on return to action
Everton’s 4-0 thrashing of Wolves earlier in the campaign was a bit of an outlier, as they generally struggled for goals under Dyche, but Moyes appears to have taken the shackles off.
Forward Beto has particularly benefited, netting five across his last five league appearances, although he did fail to net and squandered several big opportunities against Brentford last time out.
Beto could still play a key role on Saturday, but preference is for the returning Abdoulaye Doucoure, who missed the 1-1 draw with Brentford as his wife was giving birth, to get on the scoresheet.
Both of Doucoure’s league goals this season have come under Moyes, who has deployed him in a more advanced role, and he could add to his tally at Molineux.
Everton as a team have netted exactly two goals in three of their last four games and with Wolves drawing a blank in home defeats to Nottingham Forest and Arsenal since the turn of the year, preference is for a 2-0 away win in the correct score market.
