Blackburn are winless in three and have lost back-to-back away games.
Stoke have just one defeat in their last six at home in the league (W2, D3).
The Potters won the reverse fixture 2-0.
Potters in need of the points
Stoke sit just four points clear of the drop zone in the Championship and the visit of out-of-sorts Blackburn on Wednesday provides a chance to pick up three huge points.
Rovers are still in the hunt for a play-off spot but their form has dipped lately. The Lancashire outfit are winless in three and lost at struggling Derby at the weekend, their fifth defeat in their last six away games.
Stoke have managed just eight wins in total in 36 games and they have just one point to show from their last four games. However, the Potters gave a good account of themselves in a 3-2 defeat at surging Coventry at the weekend and they are a tough side to beat on home soil.
Stoke have lost just five of their 18 home games, winning five and drawing eight, and they can edge out a Blackburn side who they overcame 2-0 in the reverse fixture back in November.
A 2-1 win for Mark Robins’ men looks like a reasonable correct score prediction. Blackburn have only failed to score in two of their last eight away games and Stoke have just one clean sheet in their last eight overall, so both sides look capable of striking but home advantage gives the Potters’ a clear edge.
