Home advantage key for Wimbledon
AFC Wimbledon should be backed to get a home win over Barrow on Saturday. The league table shows these sides’ contrasting fortunes, with third-placed AFC Wimbledon well in the promotion mix, while Barrow are 17th.
AFC Wimbledon are third in League Two, 14 places and 19 points above Barrow, with 18 wins, nine draws and ten defeats from their 37 games this season. The visitors have won 12, but also have eight draws and 16 losses.
No team has a tighter defence than AFC Wimbledon in this season’s League Two, with just 26 goals against in 37 games. In contrast, Barrow have failed to keep a clean sheet in eight of their last ten league matches.
Barrow’s recent form has been inconsistent, with two wins, one draw and three defeats in their last six games. They beat Notts County 2-1 at odds of 19/5, but also lost 1-0 to rock-bottom Carlisle in a local derby.
AFC Wimbledon have won the last two League Two head-to-heads with Barrow by a two-goal margin and the visitors have sustained five two-goal reverses this season. A 2-0 home win looks the best correct-score bet.
