Goals at a premium as Clarets host Robins
There may not be many goals when Burnley host Bristol City at Turf Moor on Saturday.
Seven of Bristol City’s last nine Championship games have had fewer than three goals and no team has finished more games with fewer than three goals in the Championship than Burnley this season. Under 2.5 goals looks the best bet.
Burnley are third in the Championship, 21 points ahead of seventh-placed Bristol City. The hosts have won 21 of their 38 games this season, while the visitors have 14 wins.
Bristol City are tough opponents. They are unbeaten in nine of their last ten matches in the Championship and have gone unbeaten in six of their last seven away games.
Meanwhile, Burnley have won six of their last eight, including a 1-0 win over Oxford, and have not lost in 20 home games in the league.
There have been fewer than three goals in seven of Bristol City’s last nine Championship away games, and their last four on the road have all finished with under 2.5 goals.
Burnley have enjoyed success in four of their last five home games in the Championship and have won the last three meetings with Bristol City by the odd goal. A 1-0 win for Burnley looks like a decent correct-score bet.
