The Potters dug deep to pull off a huge win on Saturday, winning 1-0 away to relegation rivals Cardiff thanks to an own goal from Will Fish.
That win moved Stoke five points clear of the drop zone with four games to go and a win over Wednesday would surely see them over the line before tough games against Leeds and Sheffield United.
Stoke have lost just one of their last six games in the Championship and have collected eight points from their last four fixtures.
On their own patch, meanwhile, they have lost just one of their last nine home games in the league and they can claim maximum points against the Owls.
Sheffield Wednesday continue to falter
Sheffield Wednesday continue to have problems off the field with fans protesting against chairman Dejphon Chansiri and that bad mood around the club has been reflected in their recent performances.
Since their comeback win over Norwich in March, they have gone five games without a win, drawing blanks against Sheffield United, Hull and Oxford.
