Charlton turn focus to playoffs
Charlton look the best bet when they host Burton at The Valley on Saturday. Nathan Jones’ side have had a tough run of games lately, taking three points from matches against Wrexham and Wycombe – two of the top four – and this looks an easier assignment.
They are fifth in League One, 15 places and 35 points above Burton, with 24 wins, ten draws and 11 defeats from their 45 games this season. The visitors have won 11, drawn 14 and lost 20.
Charlton have gone 14 home games unbeaten in League One, winning 11 of their last 13 at The Valley.
The visitors are enduring a rough spell. Burton have not won any of their last three League One away games. However, Burton secured their place in League One with a draw in midweek, while Charlton are now turning focus to their playoff campaign.
Six of Burton’s last eight League One games and Charlton’s last three have produced three or more goals, and with eight 2-1 wins in the league so far this season, a 2-1 home win is the correct-score pick.
