Manchester United and Manchester City will raise the curtain on an exciting Premier League Saturday with their early afternoon city derby at Old Trafford in Gameweek No 20.
As odd as it may sound, it’s United who will enter the tie in higher spirits. They have been phenomenal after the World Cup break, winning all six matches across competitions and conceding only a single goal in the process.
To be fair, the Red Devils have had a very easy schedule in the process but we still can’t say they haven’t taken advantage of it to boost up the spirits in the dressing room ahead of the second half of the season.
The man we particularly need to praise is Marcus Rashford who has been just sensational upon returning from the World Cup in Qatar.
The rejuvenated English forward has found an incredible spell of form, scoring goals for fun in the recent games. The fact that Marcus has found the back of the net in seven successive matches at Old Trafford is quite impressive.
To make the case for Rashford even bigger, we have to say that John Stones missed the mid-week’s Carabao Cup loss at Southampton. Ruben Dias has been injured for quite a while as well.
Also, Pep Guardiola has made frequent rotations to his starting lineup since the World Cup break.
Manchester City have looked far less impressive in the latest outings as they slipped up at home to Everton (a 1-1 draw in the Premier League) and away at Southampton (a 2-0 loss in the League Cup) in two out of last four affairs across competitions.

- Manchester United will be additionally motivated to get revenge for the painful 6-2 defeat they suffered in early-October at Etihad Stadium. It was a match in which Erling Haaland bagged a hat-trick of goals and delivered two assists on top.
