Rennes will be hoping to annul a one-goal deficit on Thursday evening when they host Shakhtar Donetsk in the reverse game of their UEFA Europa League knockout phase playoffs tie at Roazhon Park.
The French outfit offered a surprisingly modest display seven days ago on the neutral venue in Poland when they only started to play in the second half, after going 2-0 down at the half-time.
It was the third loss on the spin across competitions for Bruno Genesio’s men. Rennes have allowed at least two goals in each of these three defeats.
