Union Berlin terminated their six-win streak across competitions in 2023 by playing a goalless draw to Ajax seven days ago in Amsterdam.
Since then, the German outfit are on a run of two successive goalless draws as their weekend’s tie against Schalke 04 did not offer any goals either.
The team led by Swiss manager Urs Fischer thus failed to take advantage of Bayern Munich’s slip-up in a 3-2 loss at Monchengladbach.
Union Berlin are now lock on points with the likes of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund at the top of the Bundesliga standings, a huge accomplishment for such team.
