Brentford and Crystal Palace will lock horns in a very exciting Matchday No 3 small London derby on Saturday afternoon at Gtech Community Stadium.
Both outfits have shown decent form in the opening two rounds and it is very hard to say which of the two is closer to the win at the weekend.
The Bees look impressive in the final third even without talisman Ivan Toney in the squad. They bagged five goals in the opening two fixtures against Tottenham and Fulham.
The goals were shared between Yoane Wissa and Bryan Mbeumo. The latter is the competition’s top scorer with three goals in two outings, two of which have come from the penalty-spot, though.
This duo will run into a very solid Palace defense on Saturday. The Eagles have allowed just one goal in the opening two games of the season. Martin Odegaard scored it from the spot-kick on Monday night in Palace’s narrow defeat to Arsenal at Selhurst Park.
Head coach Roy Hodgson can be thrilled with the showings his men have produced so far in the season. Palace have also kept their net untouched in the final preseason check, a 2-0 victory over Ligue 1 side Lyon.
