Bologna to pile misery on Empoli
Bologna are the bet away at Empoli on Saturday. The hosts have lost five of their last seven home games in Serie A, while Bologna are unbeaten in eight of their last nine on the road.
Bologna are seventh in Serie A, with eight wins, nine draws and three defeats, while Empoli are 15th on four wins, eight draws and nine losses.
Bologna justified their price of 8/13 to win their last Serie A outing, beating Monza 3-1. The win makes it three wins in the seven matches in which Bologna have been odds-on this season and they restricted Monza to one shot on target.
Empoli’s struggles in front of goal will be a concern for them here. They have scored just four goals in ten home games this season, an average of 0.4 per game.
In contrast, Bologna have scored two or more goals in 12 of their 20 league games and found the net in eight consecutive league matches, while they also beat Borussia Dortmund 2-1 in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Empoli lost 3-1 to Inter last time out, having also been beaten 3-1 by Lecce in their last home game two weeks ago.
The hosts’ defence has been far from solid of late. Empoli have gone four home games without keeping a clean sheet and have conceded in six of their last seven matches on home soil.
The 2-1 away win for Bologna looks a decent bet in the correct-score market as Empoli have scored in all of their last four Serie A defeats.
