Andoni Iraola
- Bournemouth have won only one of their last seven home league games
- Fourteen of Leicester’s 18 away games this season have featured at least three goals
- Leicester have conceded two or more in 15 of their 18 away league fixtures
Cherries hoping to end season on a high
A run of only two wins in their last 12 games has undone what has been a fine Premier League season for Bournemouth, but the Cherries can still finish in the top half and will be looking to end the campaign on a high against Leicester.
Andoni Iraola’s side play with a high intensity and, as a result, their relatively small squad has looked stretched in the latter stages of the season.
This will be the final game in a Bournemouth shirt for star centre-back Dean Huijsen, who is set to join Real Madrid, while Milos Kerkez and Antoine Semenyo are two others that are going to be highly-sought after in the summer.
The concern for Bournemouth would be that they have won only one of their last seven home league games, a run which has featured defeats to Brentford, Ipswich and Wolves, and they look weakened in their defensive midfield area with the suspended Lewis Cook joining the injured Ryan Christie on the sidelines.
That makes the Cherries look short enough in the betting, especially given relegated Leicester are starting to string together a run of positive performances as they prepare for next season’s Championship campaign.
Relegated Foxes playing with freedom
The Foxes have taken seven points from their last three league games and they rewarded Jamie Vardy with the send-off he deserves with last weekend’s 2-0 win at home to Ipswich.
Vardy, in his 500th – and final – appearance for the club, opened the scoring with his 200th goal for Leicester and that came on the back of a 2-2 draw at European-chasing Nottingham Forest.
Vardy confirmed prior to that clash with Ipswich that he won’t play any part in this trip to Bournemouth, which does soak up some of their attacking quality, but they are playing with freedom and may still ensure that this is a high-scoring encounter.
Fourteen of Leicester’s 18 away games this season have featured at least three goals and both teams have scored in 11 of those road fixtures.
Goals set to flow on the south coast
Bournemouth have the greater attacking quality with Semenyo and Justin Kluivert providing support and service for Evanilson, but they have managed only two clean sheets in their last 15 outings.
However, Leicester have conceded at least twice in 15 of their 18 away games, so are unlikely to keep Bournemouth at bay in their final game of the season at the Vitality Stadium.
Goals look assured but the Cherries still appear the most likely victors and backing them to win 2-1 could represent the best correct-score selection. The Foxes have lost with both teams scoring on five occasions away from home this term.
