Stromgodset to snap home losing streak
It has been a miserable start to the season for Eliteserien rivals Stromgodset and HamKam. The former find themselves 14th heading into the weekend, having taken just six points from their opening eight games, while HamKam are just one place ahead of Stromgodset after amassing only eight.
Each will be eager to put some much-needed points on the board when they meet at the Marienlyst Stadion on Saturday then, but it is the hosts who are fancied to prevail.
While all four of Stromgodset’s home league games this term have resulted in defeat, three of those losses came against sides in the top eight. Rosenborg and Brann inflicted two of them but the fact that those top-three sides each won by only a single goal suggests that Saturday’s hosts may be in a false league position.
Travel-sick HamKam could struggle to bring home the bacon
HamKam may have two more points than their hosts but they were held to a home draw by one of the only sides below them, KFUM, just four games ago and also lack the attacking talent of Stromgodset.
Godset have scored 14 times in the Eliteserien this term, double the amount of HamKam, while their 15 goals conceded is also two fewer than their visitors.
The hosts look worthy favourites and can make it three without defeat against HamKam by landing a narrow victory on Saturday.
